Guys, any idea how much the 4.8 petrol engine weights? So I know what engine crane/hoist is suitable.

Get the 2 ton one 
The boom will need to be fully extended, giving a capacity of 500kg (I think?) in this position....
Dunno the weight of the 4.8, but for comparison, I believe a "fully dressed" TD42 (incl oil, but no coolant) tips the scales at around 350kg.. subtract a few kg for starter motor, alternator, fan & clutch, p/s pump, & air-con compressor (and drain the oil) and she comes in just under 300kg...
The TB48 (with it's alloy head) may be a bit lighter, but don't quote me on that
