Hi All just a quick Straw poll to see how much oil ZD30 owners use when doing oil changes, and how often oil filter is changed and what viscosity /brand of oil used.

I want to see if year model makes any differnce.

So please post with this format.

ZD30 Model = ( 2000)
FIlter change(Y or N) = (Y)
Oil type used and viscosity and litre = ( 10/40 Penright +8.5L)
Drained sump oil time ( 4 hours )
Motor Hot or Cold when sump drained (hot)
Change Intervals = (5,000km)

ZD30 Model = ( 2003)
FIlter change(Y or N) = (Y - Ryco)
Oil type used and viscosity and litre = ( Dello 400 15-40, 8.2L)
Drained sump oil time ( 15 mins )
Motor Hot or Cold when sump drained (Hot)
Change intervals (5k dusty driving, 10k city driving)

Oil type used and viscosity and litre = ( Delo400 i think 8.5L)
Drained sump oil time ( 1 beer )
Motor Hot or Cold when sump drained (hot)

Filter change = Y Ryco
Oil type = Shell Helix HX 7 10W-40 (I can never manage how much oil actually) around 8.1-8.4 L
Drained sump oil time = (depends on how much time I've got)
around 0.5-1.0 hour
Engine hot or cold = cold/warm
Intervals = 5000 km (cheap insurance)

Drained sump oil time = (generally try for 3 hours)
Engine hot or cold = hot
Intervals = 5000 km and moving to trial 7500 km after this change, due to much cleaner oil. Now on 10,000k services.

Change intervals (10k all type driving since EGR has failed closed)

Drained sump oil time (15 mins while I check and/or change other fluids and filters)
Motor Hot or Cold when sump drained (Very Warm - If hot to hot to get oil filter out otherwise )
Change intervals - 5,000km but probably go to 10,000 once engine is rebuilt

Based on Nissan service bulletin some years back, applies to all ZD30 engines.
You may find it on this forum somewhere.
