Just did my first oil change in my GU 2000 ZD30, Book says 8.2Ltrs with filter, this amount did not touch dipstick so kept pouring and let it sit between top up and finally at 9.8Ltr it shows full on dipstick, with nissan mod sump would this be the norm amount.

I use 8.2 litres as specified and check the level next morning, it is nicely on the full mark.

If you overfill it you are going to get excessive blowby and probably oil leaks. Good ole Nissan overfilled mine a couple of services ago and the catch can was collecting a lot more oil than it usually does. Dropped the oil back to the normal level and all good again, so as I said, err on the side of caution. Cheers

As already stated, 8.2ltrs and no more unless you want excessive blow by.

Measure the dipstick length. It should be 646mm from the rubber shoulder (top of dipstick) which locates up against the top of the dip stick tube, to the bottom of the dip stick. If its shorter, there is your problem.

If your adding oil after 8.2ltrs, there is a very serious issue.
