hey guys how can i id my diff on the rear? its a gu coil cab and i think it has 4.1's in it..
the reason im asking is i have found a mk/mq air locker and going by ARB's application chart the locker may fit if it has a H233(31 spline) H260(37spline)
does anyone see a problem doing this as my searches have not helped me

i would say if you have owned the car since new or know the previuos owner and can be sure its has not been changed then the diff ratio would be standard issue.
Should just be able to look up your model and find out the spec.
I cant look it up for you as you havent said if what engine type your ute has.

You can tell did ratios by jacking the back of the car up and putting a while mark on the tires at the ground and also top of the pinion. Then spin the pinion as you count till the tire does one full revolution. If the pinion does just over 4 turns 4.1 bout 4 1/4 turns 4.3 less than 4 turns 3.9. Catch my drift.
Or if Gu trips are like gqs it's on the compliance or model plate it will say h41 or h39 or along them lines. Could be either 3.9 or 4.1 ratios

He's asking what model diff he has not what ratio isn't he... H233 or H260... or are thay specific to ratios ?

H233 has a 233mm crown wheel ,
h260 has a 260mm crown wheel.....the size of the diff housings are obvious.

It's easy to tell which you have : All front diffs are h233 some rear diffs are h260 so if your rear diff is larger it's a h260 ... Someone here will know for sure, but I think all h260's are 37 spline.

the reason i said i think i have 4.1 is because that what the plate said in the engine bay said but i dont know if they have been changed..and benos i take it that is with origanal tyres on as i have 285/75/16's and if anything my front diff looks bigger than my rear or it could be me big night last night lol...pm sent buddy

Thanks mate so if the mq/mk locker is out of a is a h233 it should fit
