just wondering if the plastic engine cover that sits around the intercooler is there for looks or does it help seal the scoop to cooler or something ?

i like to ditch it so i dont have to take it on and off while tinkering with the engine in the future.

purely cosmetic. i've an upgraded intercooler and it isn't on anymore. hang it in the shed mate
