I've recently installed a ht18 turbo to my NA blacktop GQ and am now upgrading to a 3" exhaust but the supposedly direct bolt on system aligns directly with the hoop/crossmember under the tailshaft. Is this crossmember stock? Is it required, can I cut it or should I be looking for a new exhaust to go around it?

Did the exhaust seller specifically say it fitted leaf sprung GQs? IIRC there were 4 different chassis for the GQ range:
  • SWB wagon,
  • LWB wagon/coil cab chassis,
  • coil front-leaf rear, and
  • leaf springs both ends.

Nah, they only said it would bolt on to a stock GU set-up on a converted GQ (low mount ht18) with a slight hanger adjustment. Pics attached. Likely they don't come across full leaf sprung utes very often as they are not as common.

The crossmember looks very stock given the welds. I'll give PPD a bell to see what can be done.
