Howdy,

in the process of overhauling the swivel hubs on the GQ, started yesterday and ran out of light, laid the two kingpin bearing out on the tray top and bottom, well last night the dogs decided they wanted my left over lunch from yesterday and have knocked them off the tray and now i have no idea which is the top and bottom, both only have a single shim plate, is there anyway to tell?

having them the wrong way will not affect the pre load on the bearing?

Yeah no worries with mixing them up theya are idenitcal, just make sure the preload is right when you put them back together, should be firm to turn, not so loose its a 1 finger job and not so tight you have to put your weight behind it to move it, and if you have to adjust it do the same to the top and bottom (same shims top and bottom)

measure the shims and see if they are definently the same thickness?

the swivel hub might be half a millimetre higher or lower if you swap them over.
Only a possible problem if the big seal is really, really old and hard.

remember to check the preload drag before you fit the new seals on the back. just leave them hanging on the housing.
