First thing I would check would be that all bolts are tight. Especially radius arms, both ends, they tend to clunk over small bumps like kerbs and the like if they get a bit loose.

I have the same problem but it does it when ever not just in the wet. I will double check all bolts and nuts tomorrow but yeah.

If the car was a GQ then body mounts would have been the first thing I said before radius arm bolts, but if think on the balance a 10 year old GU is less likely to have crook body mounts than a 20 year old GQ, but of course we don't know the condition so I'm just going for law of averages.

On a GU it also could be cracks at the base of the A pillar on the inner guard, they tend to crack a bit there (as do GQs), not too hard to just unbolt the guard and have a look. Cracks in this spot somehow manage to sound like they are coming from the floor... Magic...
