Hi guys, this problem has me stumped and i was hoping you guys out there might be able to shed some light on the issue.

The patrol runs fine at idle and really well on the road right up to 130kph when the tank is on a quarter full or less. BUT... if i fill the tank up it runs ruff and starts back firing, if i pull the choke on it will accelerate better but not great, yet it will still idle well. Not sure whats goin on. i've checked the fuel pump etc and i presume its fine, not sure.

possibly a vapor lock issue in the tank. next time it happens with a fullish tank, pull over and open the fuel cap, if you get a gush of air, thats the problem! probably blocked breather pipes or something, although on my mates car the exhaust was blowing onto the tank and caused it to heat up (and hence the fuel would expand).

Breather pipe should be on the tank pinkish colour ???
Rear of the tank, should see fairly easy
Take it of and clean it and refit
1 end is open so anything could plug it
Mud, wasps ,ect

Go down to supacrap and buy a $2 fuel filter, well a couple
Whack it on for a week , then replace
They are cheap filter and great for removing any crud in the lines
Do that for a coupla weeks or so
