I wish I had that on hand the other night when I tried to explain to someone why humans are so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. You're born, you live, you die. So make the most of it!
Thanks, Apart from thinking that is cool as, I'm an ICT's support teacher and I'm going to send this to all my teachers to show their students tomorrow morning! Awesome Ray!
I agree.
Depends on what scale your mesuring your significance against.
Ray is obviously a size matters kind'o guy (lol - no offence)
Does the tool accuratly depict spirituality, mentality, scope for doing good, making change, creating progress ect ect.
Cause Pluto is pretty big but as far as I know it never helped an old lady cross a street or cured a communal disease.
If you are on facebook, check out this video, pretty good depiction although in reality it doesn't even scratch the surface of all of the miraculous wonders and the irreduceable complexities involved in the creation of each and every life.
At the gravity wave observatory in Gingin they have a scale model of our solar system that you can walk out along. It's spaced out through the bush in a straight line. It's a bit of a spin out. Worth a visit !
like the line in the movie " CONTACT", it We're the only life in the Universe, it seems such a waste of space. I cannot possibly see how even the most dogmatic could not concieve of other intelligent life in the observable Universe (leaving out religious dogma). What excites me is that I used to be part of a star,(probably the bit hanging out of its bum) and will be again, and again, and again...........................................
