Like the title says. i am looking at getting a K9 roof rack for my 1999 GU, K9 is an eezi-awn product made out of South Africa. I already have the eezi awn 2.2m roof top tent and i am very happy with the quality, so i figure i cant go wrong with the rack.

my big question is, should i go with the 2.8 m rack.

They recommend a 1400 x 2200 for the GU, i have seen a GU with a 1400 x 2800mm rack from a Defender and i like the idea of more space up there. I really like the fact you can tuck maxtrax under the back lip like in the picture below. The rig owner for the below picture is, swissgu

whats peoples opinions of something this big sitting atop a GU ?

Be easier to overload, especially over back wheels, plus makes it really hard to hop up on the rack if you do it like most of us, standing on the bumper then spare tyre. Great spot for maxtrax, but upside down theyd be a bugger to put up there, easy to fall and hit the window, door, not to mention head!
