I have had a compression test done on my 2.8 and on average all cylinders are down on compression 10 - 15 percent under spec.

In the winter the 2.8 can be hard to start... I have to change the glow plugs every year.

Is there anything I can do to make starting better. Maybe a bigger battery??

All conclusions welcome

Bigger battery will just let you turn it over for longer probly burning your starter out, it will have to be rebuilt eventually, glow it a few times in the morn before you start it.

Hi roycehg, low compression can be caused by many things including carbon build up and glazing, you may want to try FTC decarbonizer as this product is meant to solve these issues before you head down the rebuild path..
