Low running temp

Hey all,

I've noticed my standard running temp is about 78c lately. This is in stop/start traffic between 60-70km / hour city driving. I'm almost sure I've seen it running higher than that previously as standard, which I what I would generally expect. I'll get out onto the motorway tomorrow to see if it makes a difference. I don't tow or anything like that.

Is the temperature indicative of something wrong, or is it within normally operating range. My thermostat on the way out maybe? The car seems to behave fine and EGTs are where I would expect them.

I wouldn't worry too much at this time, mine runs at 84c in traffic, never goes above 89c on the hottest of days. How accurate is your temp gauge, if it is a stand alone maybe drop the sender into a jug of boiling water and see what you get.

Thanks! It's a dual EGT + Temp Redarc. That's a good idea I'll try to trace the sensor and pop it in boiling water. I suspect it's accurate.

Good, easy to confirm and rule out. But I wouldn't worry to much.
