I'm looking at doing a ls1 conversion in my 2003 3ltr turbo gu patrol auto.

not sure to fit it to the factory auto or fit the ls1 gearbox in with it the motor?

patrol box, commodore 3-4 clutch packs cant really handle the weight of the patrol

I just helped a friend sort out his gu with ls1 and zd30 auto last weekend
he welded a ring to the 4l60 bellhousing and then that bolted to the zd30 auto box
and did something for the converter
auto runs just like it did with std engine

Hi,doing a similar conversion,just the auto was mated to 4.5 ltr,not to many supporters out there so pleased to read the comment that the 3ltr auto works as standard,how did you hook up accelerator cable and did you use the original tps on the pedal,tacho interface ?,what t/converter ?,valve body upgrade ?,cheers,Mike

a guy does these on the side for customers so not sure what he did with converter
best of jumping on facebook and asking on there
I just help him with the electricals to get everything working properly
if u plan on doing electricals yourself just google the diagrams and study them and go from there
its too big a job to explain what to do in a post

if your not going to abuse it the 3lt auto is fine
he has 2 patrols one with 6lt one with 5.7 lt and auto in 6lt is slipping abit but its an old box
the ls1 with zd30 auto is fine
pretty sure he welds something on end of pedal to accept the new cable
