I have a 1989 GQ TD 4.2 with factory rear diff lock. Can someone tell me if this is a LSD or not.

Hi Pitbull, I haven't tried it yet.I've only had the patrol about 2 weeks.I need to replace the 2 hoses that go from the pipes up to the solenoid on the firewall, they were missing when I got it,everything else is all hooked up so I'm hoping it all works when I replace the hoses. Does yours work ok ?

It does now after i replaced it with an aftermarket Solenoid

Its a common problem with the factory Hitachi vacum solenoids for them to either engage and not disengage or visa versa , if this happens you have to swap the hoses over to rectify the problem

You can replace the factory one with a better unit that operates instantly on /off , many of us here on the forum have replaced ours and there are numerous posts to read if you search using the google search above

Cheers

I should have the new hoses on in the next couple of days then I'll check and see if it works properly. If not I'll change to an aftermarket solenoid as you suggest.

Cheers
