Well I think you will find she won't go so well. I accidentally left my maf plug half unplugged and drove up the street wondering WTF happened!!
Hardly any boost, even less power than normal and she wouldn't rev!
Got to where us was going and checked everything I touched and found the plug not all the way in. Plugged in it away I went.

So to answer your question, properly do no damage but she wont go.

Mass Air Flow or Mean Air Flow sensor, basically a little wire that changes resistance with the air speed over it and from which the ECU can then compute air flow.

Its a little black box that sits just beyond the airbox in the 2.8s, DO NOT UNDO THE SCREWS ON THE SIDE OF IT TO GO EXPLORING. this breaks contacts inside the maf and your in a hole world of hurt.

Any MAF fitted to most EFi nissan vechiles with a pink sticker from about 96 to 00 is the same as the 2.8 GU. RB25DETs, 26s, 20s ect have the same MAF.

my brother in law drove his Patrol from Melbourne to Carnis and back with the MAF unplugged.

Funny for the whole trip he was always complaning how gutless his Patrol was conpared to mine (we had the same vehicles)

I would have paid to have been there when he took the vehicle to the machanic once he had returned only to have the machanic plug the wires back in and tell him it was all fixed.
