Hello.

So far have made a 12mm thick flange for a new dump pipe. Now looking for a 3" pipe to go on with the project. Any advice or tips in the meantime will be appreciated.

Hi, late reply but how is your exhaustproject going?
After sorting out a little boost problem a 3" downpipe with 2.75" exhaust wil be my next project.
I'm very interested in your build up.
Do you have any more pics?

Hi, so far just the flange is made, I'm still searching mid steel pipe, and also will have to wait for warmer days to go ahead with this. Will be keeping posted here.

BTW, what boost probs did you have?

Question: when fitting new dump pipe, should I better use the metal gasket (photo below) or any kind of sealant is preferable? Any advice on that?

I would go metal gasket personally, I dont see anything out of a tube withstanding the temperature.

So, it's not quite fair for this thread to be in DIY anymore as I'm going to entrust this job to the specialists.

I've decided to go for 2.75" system and already ordered 2.75" dump pipe. It's from other turbo with same flange but the turn would probably need to be adjusted.

The rest of exhaust will be either 2.75" (if I'm lucky to find the pipe) or 2.5"
Ummmmm yeah I don't think that will bolt up and will probably need considerable work to get it right.

But if you are handy with a TIG then I guess it's possible.

Cheers

Sure, will do, though the progress will be a bit slow.

The flange bolts on no problem. Can't say how much to work on the turn until I have the dump pipe arrived and in my hands.

Will ask here too:

Plan is to have 2.5" tube after the dump pipe. Would Scotts 3" dump pipe be ok or better have 2.75" dump pipe from Beaudesert? Thanks.
