Hi there , I'm an brisbanite living in canada , have a GQ wagon and want to make a ute .

is there any kits out there for back panel after you cut the parts of the body you don't want ?
or any websites that do the process - ?

best place to cut ? worse place to cut ? issues and dramas - your experiences would be appreciated .

thanks

Do a bit of a search on here, theres some info even a few have posted up some step by step pics
There are some people that can supply the rear walls, rather dear
But depending how and where you cut ,they mite not fit up
Many are chasin ute rear walls for these conversions ,hence the $$$ of the rear walls are climbing
No websites with a step by step guide as many do different ways

I'll post a thread in DIY when I do mine.
I bought a whole ute just to get the cab wall, fortunately I found one with the drivers door hinges broken off.
If you make your own don't just plate it off behind the B pillars you need more room than that.

Perhaps I should use this ute cab I have to make a mould for fibreglass.
cut the wagon off 50mm behind the B pillar through the roof and the floor and pop the new back in like a plug and glue it in place... Should be legal because the original B pillars are whats holding the seat belt.
What would be a fair price for something like that?
