Very sad.

I think we need compulsory parenting courses too though as I often see young kids running around where there are lots of moving vehicles.

maybe its time for parents to stop letting their kids piss off everywhere and not take control or care of them.

sorry for the todler, but it's the peoples own fault.keep kids away from cars and other vehicles.

We keep equiping the cars with more and more gimmics to enhance safety" like reverse alarm, reverse cam, parking assistance, skid control, traction control and on and on.
But people only pay even less attention to their surroundings as they have all the safety $hit.they drive faster because of the shorter brake distance with ABS.
They dont look in the rearview mirror because there's a cam and can't park a car without a parking aid anymore.
and when accidents happen first thing they claim is all their fancy gimmics broke down and that caused the accident.
They don't pay attention anymore.
Myfirst driving lessons were all about the dimensions of the car and make a walk around the car BEFORE you start the car, to check both car and surroundings for obstacles and other things that deserve attention.

Back to basics people,Lose all the crap and get back the feel of real driving.

I prefer driving in Sydney peak hour traffic rather than school zones. The most dangerous, ignorant,self-obsessed people I have ever had the misfortune to drive around, are parents picking kids up from school (notice I was not sexually exclusive)

ive talked to the missus about this, when we have kids ill be building a picket fence between the drive way and the house, that way if the kids arent in the back of the car while backing out we know they cant be behind the car.

We will oneday have a massive computer/helmet on our shoulders, that wont let us do anything until the computer decides the action is entirely safe for all mankind, it will weigh approx 20kilos and it will save morons from themselves.

Frankly I think its the Gene pool cleansing itself once again.....it is sad to hear of a toddler being crushed, but really the parents ASK FOR IT. Fukn Twits.

Hi,

Isnt it funny how we need a licence for car or dog but not kids. Let them play on the street and the car that hits them is at fault ! Not true in all cases but I am trying to make a point. Kids are kids and will sneak away, but if you make sure they are behind gates or closed doors and walk around your vehicle before you leave the chances of an accident like this are minimal. It seems some people think everyone else should look after their kids. Fine or sterilize I reckon.

And more often than not they are the ones speeding through thier own school 40km zones also!

I agree but it's still so easy for someone to slip behind your car unnoticed while your getting in the car. Rear view camera's are good.

eleventy.. by the time you've gone from passengers door to the drivers 9 kids are walking past your car. but in reality without a guide, its almost the best you can do.
I piss many people off I wheel with by waiting until all kids are in my sight or accounted for by parents. Amazed they get ****ty when I do it.

I agree with bigbear. If the parents are so slack/retarded to look after thier 'precious' Id rather not have them in the gene pool.

If you can cry over it after its been crushed, protect it in the first place.

We have 2 toddler grandsons and a 8 year old granddaughter living with us now , before I even move the car I make sure the kids are either inside or being supervised at all times , never needed reversing cameras
