Got the sockets from eBay. Dealer was in Darwin. $16 for sockets. Went to Super Cheap yesterday. Exactly same sockets were $34.

Was there any clearance issues with the sockets or electrical connections and the inside lining of the center console??

No problems at all. To simplify the wiringi just looped one positive to the other then using the connectors with one male and one female spade but I run one 10amp figure 8 cable under the whole centre console to up under the dash and tapped into the pre existing UHF radio power and earth. Works a treat

What sort of plug goes into the 12 volt outlet as looks like it locks in?

Just a standard cigarette plug. Don't know why the lock bit is on there. It might lock the plug in so it can't be knocked out. Will check for you.
