I've ordered the Eclipse unit this morning.
Budget stretch yes, but a brand new unit from a local Garrett distributor was around $2K.
Oem original from the Nissan dealer was $340
If I can help in anyway just ask.

Brand new Genuine Garrett is $1430 plus $27.50 for a gasket kit.
Would love to be able to sell them for $2k.

This is a typo and there is the 2nd zero missing at the end, isn't it?
Nissan dealer quoted $3400 for a genuine Nissan replacement part.
Local Garrett distributor quoted around $2000
I figured I could stretch a little more with an Eclipse at $2300 +15 freight.
Just waiting on delivery, with reserved excitement.

Is this the SRJ500ZD unit?
I was talking to a distributor who went: "I wouldn't recommend this unless you have a 3" exhaust and will be getting the ecu remapped."

Have you got all that or planning to? Or are you just replacing the unit, be done with it?

My patrol already has its ecu remapped and a 3 inch exhaust.
Tillix system and water/meth injection pre throttle.

Although I have been advised that these are necessary. :)

Mate your going to be fine, as for the 3" exhaust mine has a 2.75" and it is putting out great Hp and great torque down low.

Did you mean fine without the ECU remapped?
He already has a remap. If he didn't he would need to be very careful as the eclipse pumps a hell of a lot more air especially if you have improved intake.

Well with some patience and creative socket/spanner work, the dump pipe is finally free!

So after removing the offending nut...i'm going exercise more patience and go for a coffee whilst the H72 seeps a little more into the last manifold bolt for the turbo to come free. :)
