This might seem like an obvious question to some (and hopefully it will resutling in a simple answer. What is the difference between a Nissan Navara such as this one:

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=9915109&__Qpb=true&Cr=5&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294963846%204294963186%20410%20898%20714&SearchAction=N&silo=1011&PriceTo=410&seot=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&trecs=13&__sid=12B97CF3CDDE

and the GU Patrol? Is the Navara just a Ute/pick up version of the Patrol or are they fundamentally different vehicles? I currently have a 2002 GU and am very tempted to swap for a Ute version as to they look like the same truck with a different body, but the Ute would be great for work and camping.

Having only recently moved to Australia so not come across the Navara before but if it is a Ute GU I could be very interesting.

Thanks in advance

Completely different vehicles, maybe only the light globes are interchangeable at least with the D40s.
There is some information on here about the Navaras so it would be worth searching, otherwise I believe there is a Navara forum.

navara is a lighter chassis 4x4, think of its as patrol little brother. they are smaller, lighter and not as strong. the D22 is a good little workhorse. most importantly its a whole lot cheaper than a patrol.
btw you can get patrols as a single cab ute.

I have just come from a D22 Navara, great vehicle for what it is built for but if you are like me and want to do some 4x4 fun on the weekends, the patrol is MUCH more suited to that. Have a look at the cab chassis versions if you are comfortable with having just 2 (or 2.5) seats
