Whatever you do don't go near Aus4wd.

Depending on your location Patrolapart does all servicing and know a thing or two about Patrols

If you are located near Lilydale I would strongly recommend Andy at Diesel Tec. He knows his way around Patrols and has if required a Dynamometer and knows how to use it with tuning

Hi Guys,
two issues that I faced were (i) confidence in who to remove, replace and honest as well, and (ii) in the event that pump is being overhauled then who does this work.
I had mine fail between Shepparton and Echuca in the middle of the night and no warning. So really did not get a choice with (i) but fortunately for me Shepparton had three / four all go within the last three months so they were very knowledgeable. I also had a spare car so no rush.
The guys at MTQ in dandenong were the specialist pump overhaul technicians and I went and saw them and between the service provider at Shepparton and MTQ I also decided to do injectors at same time, lift pump, and also timing chain, and sprockets, based on the advice of both the provider and MTQ. The injectors were cheap $100/ each and gaskets etc.

The timing chain was very hit and miss. I think we got three or four different brands before we were all happy with the result, (genuine in the end as far I can remember).

If you are regional and Shepparton is suitable I can recommend the guys at Motacare autogroup, but this was 2.5 yrs ago.
they also picked up a cracked air intake line (air cleaner to turbo), which was a blessing..................

What was the issue with Aus 4wd?
Took my car in with an oil leak, an oil pressure light on and for a clutch kit fitment. While it was there they said they had replaced the oil pressure switch and it hadn't fixed the issue, so next they would replace the sensor ($230). They said they had checked the oil pressure both cold and at running temp and it was good.

I got my car back after a week with the oil pressure light still on, the oil leak still there and my new car seats absolutely covered in oil and grease.

When they installed the new oil pressure switch they used that much sealant the switch had no chance of grounding on the motor, so I had to remove it and found the sealant they used had made its way into the switch body itself, so I replaced the switch and had no further oil pressure light issues.

I called and asked to speak with someone about it several times and never received a call back. I then find out through the mechanic that worked on my car they never tested the oil pressure at operating temp, only cold. The oil leak still there... and now after paying AUS4WD a fortune, I have to take it some place else to have the actual issue (rocket cover) fixed.

Just realised you recommended them in the previous thread. No hard feelings, I'll just know to avoid them in the future. Their failure to return my calls will only mean poor word of mouth for aus4wd. Are you associated with them?

No but have had some work done and some times I think it’s not up to scratch. I find it really difficult to find anyone I can trust to work on my patrols . Plus a fair price

I highly recommend Paul from Outback 4wd. Located in Bayswater highly knowledgeable, approachable and doesn’t muck you around. Not sure if he offers dyno work but does everything else.

Yeah I'm in the same position. I'm going to stick with Patrolapart I think given their knowledge on Patrols is second to none. Dieseltec was a fair way out of my price range unfortunately
