i wouldnt think so, never had any dramas with my factory ones, and if the hub wants to crack i dont think that ring would stop it

The hubs usually strip internally if they go. Never seen a hub blow apart.
If you needed new retainers anyway they would be ok I guess.

the hubs do explode under comp use (seen it before)
if the stock ones were so good why would superier eng make steel ones?
