What can be done to a crank in a non turbo black top to make it stronger/reliable to handle 180 kws

I'm not an expert but I didn't think there was a difference in the crank between the various td42 motors, I though the problem was the rods and pistons, smaller gudgeon pin on the non turbo motors

Cranks least of your worries mate!
Clutch from ufi, and shouldn't be any dramas.
Turbo pistons are the part you will need!

Cheers guys, rebuilding engine with factory turbo pistons as mine has 30mm gudgeon.
Just thought if there was anything that I could do to crank I would look into it

My black top is out of a 99 gu, I could be wrong but I was told it had 30mm gudgeon pins, I'm yet to check though

Is that just advise for non turbo motors? I have a td42t that I plan to push to 180rwkw but I wasn't planning to open it

Yea my mate has 270hp on a NA black top, been going a few months now and he just bolted 37's on so it will be interesting to see how it lasts

Don't need to open it, just good stuff to do if it's open. Number one most important thing is flywheel/clutch mass followed by harmonic damper condition imo
