something i've pinched off a hunting forum

Dear Fishers, Shooters, Hunters, Primary Producers and Outdoor Enthusiasts

The time has come for all of us who live, love and work in the outdoors to draw on our network of friends, family and colleagues - to join together in support of the Shooters & Fishers Party (S&FP) in the coming NSW state election. - March 26th. If you live in NSW you will probably be well aware of the great work of our two sitting S&FP MLC’s in the NSW Upper House, Robert Brown & Robert Borsak, plus retired long-time representative John Tingle MLC and the late and sorely-missed Roy Smith MLC. Many of you will have also noticed the S&FP at the last Federal election and also in its support of Country Alliance in the recent Victorian election.

I am sure I don’t need to tell you about the serious threat that we are facing at the moment - with the Greens effectively controlling the Australian government AND threatening to take even more control in NSW. The Greens Party is very well organised and they have literally thousands of ready volunteers and they have their sights set on increasing their representation in NSW.

Now is the time for us to stand together and send a strong anti-green message – “Keep your hands off our land. Hands off our resources. Hands off our guns and keep your hands-off our rights, privelages and pastimes!!”

This coming election Robert Brown’s seat is up for re-election and S&FP are hoping to gain at least one other seat for Jim Muirhead - taking our representation in that parliament to THREE. S&FP needs your help, in any way you can to achieve this... so please, please do pass this email and links on to all of your like-minded contacts and urge them to do the same. Post it to your Facebook pages. Even if you live outside of NSW and you send it to another shooter, fisher or grazier outside of NSW it doesn’t matter. They may know someone in NSW who can benefit right now and S&FP can enlist their vote and support in this coming election.

Our success in NSW on March 26th will reverberate around Australia – Australia’s sensible outdoors people will not accept a nation controlled by Green agendas!!

This is what YOU CAN DO to help – today!!

READ – read the document attached or in the link provided.
http://www.australianhunting.net/ahn/documents/sandfp/S&FP_elect_2011.pdf

VISIT – visit the Shooters & Fishers Party homepage ( www.shootersandfishers.o rg.au ), read all about the party achievements – and sign on for their newsletter to stay informed in the future.

VOTE – NSW residents can show their support, right now, by voting ‘1’ for the Shooters & Fishers Party in the NSW Upper House in this coming election. Additionally, Toongabbie electorate residents can vote for Peter Johnson in the Lower House.

VOLUNTEER – NSW residents, S&FP needs your support right now, by volunteering to man polling booths, to hand-out How-To-Vote cards on election day... even if you can only dedicate a few hours on Saturday the 26th March, it will be a big help!! Look here for the volunteering application form - Shooters and Fishers

FORWARD – Forward this email with attachments or links to all of your like-minded contacts – shooters, hunters, fishers, boaties, 4WD’ers, farmers, graziers, timber-workers.... they can all benefit from S&FP policies and representation!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read all of this and to ACT, alongside your fellow outdoors-people, now is the time to get together and get political!!
Best regards and many thanks again for your support!!

Personally I would think there are more "Fishers" throughout AU then "Hunters/Shooters" and therefore us "Fishers" should really be able to stand on our own. Unfortunately, over the years, I have not always agreed with some of the platforms the party as a whole, have stood for.

The other down side is by voting for these small mono interest parties we further splinter the Government and have even worse problems than we do now with power hungry "Independents".

There are enough of us that we should be able to strike fear into the hearts of sitting (2 party) members with our "swinging vote" but alas we are disorganised.

might as well just vote straight liberal and be done with it ,

at least they are totally incompetent and inept but honest about it

these small time parties are the downright stupid and moronic and pretend they will do stuff when they can't

The Shooters and Fishers Party will have a significant position in the NSW Upper House if the current polls are correct.

The Libs will end up with 19 seats which is two short of an absolute majority. The Hunters and Fishers have one seat already, and on previous voting trends should get another seat. This gives the balance of power to themselves and the Rev Fred Nile's party, who are generally assured of one vote.

The S&F party is advertising on Radio in NSW, with one of their ads aimed directly at four wheel drive enthusiasts, urging them to vote for S&F and keep the Greens from restricting access to 4wd areas.

I'm a shooter and I have handguns. The law says I must attend the range and shoot a set number of matches each year. Minimum four per category (calibre) of gun.

This is absolute arsepaper!

What if you were a golfer and had to keep a record of how many games you played and how often you used each club?

What if you don't feel in the mood to go shooting/golfing? Oh No...cant do that, nanny says you have to do the protocol to suit her. Fark them! I hate being forced to do anything.

There are other ways around this ****e, and the mad restrictive laws will provide us with the incentive to find them. Bit like tax really, worst investment you can ever make is paying tax. Just don't talk to them, never tell them anything and they won't know.

In NSW there are 184000 licensed shooters, and 215,000 licensed fishers, though there is an amount of these people that are both fishers and shooters.

With 100,000 votes, the S&F will win one seat to go with the one they already have, with 200,000, they will get an additional seat, to make 3 in total and be in a very strong position to influence legislation in NSW.

Unfortunately I don't live in NSW but if I did as a fisherman, 4WD and a gun owner I'd be voting for this lot. You would be mad not to in my situation. Labour and Liberal don't give a **** and the Greens are just emotively, academically, philosophically adverse to reality to even consider.
