So I've just had my TD42 rebuilt and it has oil in the coolant. Only picked it up on Xmas eve and still running it in.
Could this be remnant oil from before/during the rebuild? Or has it not been rebuilt properly? I had it rebuilt so not sure on all the details. But liners were redone (they had dropped) and was tunnel bored. Head was fine.
Not losing coolant or overheating. Oil on the dipstick is black as always. Not blowing bubbles into the overflow.

If they had the block out to be machined I would say there is a very small chance of any cross contamination there.
Only on head off only rebuilds you might see some mixing if the coolant hasnt been drained properly.

It could be from the oil cooler if they have had it apart and not replaced the two gaskets that seal in there.

All you can really do is keep a really close eye on it.

Hi, also have engine oil in my coolant. Did you find the cause in the end?? I’ve read elsewhere that it could be a dropped liner 😢
