I have the seals with partnummer 13207 53F00, but they can't fit on the stem assy. How is it possible?
I am not "hands on " with the RD engine,maybe someone here can help,but it looks like the collar of the old seal is still on the valve guide.Can you use a small hook ,maybe wire to feel down along the old seal,looking for a ridge/step which might indicate the end of the old seal.I have replaced seals on the RB engine and the old ones are difficult to remove,need a pliar type tool to pull them off and a custom punch to set the new ones in place.

It is not the old seal, it's steel more a thickening. It's for me the first time a I do this job, but somethings tell me it is special! The old seal was rubber..colour brown, and difficult to remove. It looked like it was glued on.

Somebody more experiments?

No one ever seen a cylinder head like this... with these valve guides? Then I think it is a replica and not an original Nissan head. Too bad, we have to go back to the lathe to make things fit.

The tolerances are small, because you also have to deal with the valve springs, but it works with aluminum or brass, which is nice to turn, and also strong.

@grumpyone,

You were right, so they were the vans of the old seals. I heated things up a bit with the burner, after which they were demountable. Not easy yet, but it worked.

I find the head unreliable, it is a second hand from the Netherlands. Two oil penetrations had been drilled with the idea of making them larger. But after that it was one big hole. I have turned and mounted new buses.

A camshaft holder there had worn a stud thread. In addition, all hydraulic lifters were stuck, or did not move smoothly.

The camshaft was well worn, I replaced it with mechanical lifters. But a strange noise continued to be heard at the head and finally the head bolts became loose.

So I have now decided to fit a new head complete with hydraulic lifters, new camshaft and valves. So the problem wasn't just the valve stem seals, but it helped me over the threshold to get it right now.

Cheers, Willem.
