Optus the sneaky *****s!

Hi All
I recently changed phone companies from 3 to Optus as 3 where no longer going to cover my area with their new deal with Vodafone.
Anyway, I haven't yet setup my voicemail and I got a missed call from Optus wanting to do a survey (I found out after), after the call hung up I got a message from voicemail, intrigued I called the 321 voicemail number and it gave me a speal about "Welcome to voicemail, to setup you need to record a message...etc". This confirmed I didn't have voicemail setup. Because I was already on the phone and I was going to setup my voicemail at some point in time and I was intrigued as to who left me a message I set it up.
Afterwards I thought, those sneaky bastards, they probably deliberately called a left a message so I would set it up, no one else that has ever called me was able to leave a message why them?

YES! Someone new to accuse! Excellent!

F*ck you Optus!!!

lol but they are s***
I had Telstra leave a message on my new phone telling me I was now connected to Telstra. Der really!!!!! What million dollar a year earning executive came up with the brainwave?
You moved to optus?

Good luck with reception.

Telstra may not be perfect but their reception is far superior to optus.

Cheers

Justin
vodafone in the last 2 years has really sucked a big fat 1, they used to have awesomness
Virgin is not too bad for coverage, it suprised me anyway
till you go west of port augusta or south of adelaide or north of clare etc
Virgin is not too bad for coverage, it suprised me anyway
umm really? :-?
mine is no where near as good as when I was with telstra
Been working in Central/western Queensland and vodaphone takes it up the a#*%! I also found out that 1gig prepay internet with vodaphone only gives you a gig worth in a 3g area(ie: the city) otherwise 1gig becomes 100mb on GPRS:headwall:
I have vodafones 365 day value bundle with about a billion hours of free vodafone to vodafone minutes and bugger all actual credit... to many $30 credits ;)

As for reception Im actually happy its reasonably crap outside of civilisation as I cant be contacted.
I hate optus for numerous reasons but I hate telstra even more and everyone else has crap service here on the Central Coast so I'm stuck with them.
I just got rid of telstra, now with Iprimus which uses the telstra network. $12.95 for $180 worth of calls.
I don't use the mobile much so is a good deal for me
I like it when the 12yr old at the store tells you that 100% guarantee the phone WILL work at home where others wont, then says "see, it works here"...

then you say give me your phone and I'll go home and call you.. if it works, I'll buy one, if not, I'll keep the phone.. and at that point, they ****... customer service surely has come along way in the last 50yrs.
I think it really depends where you live. I'm on optus and kept my wifes on telstra, so we can use either depending on which has reception. Around the burbs both are faultless. When away we have found optus to be more relieable????not sure why. I was on a mine site (black water) and a mate who had telstra couldn't get a signal anywhere we tried, mine had 3 bars.
Its a bit off the track(sorry hey hey)but if you have no signal and it an emergency dial the 112 number and it will pick up what ever tower/phone system there is.
If you really want to spin out, right down on paper every single phone call you make (home or mobile) Telstra, Optus etc are notorious for overcharging customers...

My old man got STD calls restricted from his phone because of how high the bills were each month from calling family in Sydney. The following month though they tried to charge him for calling interstate which of course was impossible at the time. They simply appologised stating there was a computer error and retracted the bill. So the following months he kept tabs of every call made and the next 2 months was over charged also. Seems as though they look at what calls you make regularly and add that number a few extra times to sting more money out of you. Who is going to know? Who keeps track of every single call? And if you see a number you ring regularly how would you know how many times you rang it in a month?

MAGGOTS!!!

x2, and if with vodafone, better hope you don't have a problem after 8pm, cos all you will get is pre recorded selection "Lara".

Lara totally SUCKs bad ! :headwall: (no not like that, and get your mind out of the gutter,ha-ha)
Reception depends on the phone itself. I am with Optus and i get better reception with my new phonethan the old one, Both 3G. I always got reception in more places than the handbrake and she is with Telstra.
At my house, we get pretty **** reception, but on my iPhone 4 with optus is the best I have had yet, better than Telstra on a Nokia rated for use in Rural areas. In Vic in particular it all depends on what side of the hill your on and which company has a tower there. :D

X 2 for vodafone sucking and for hoping you dont have a problem outside of 8pm.

oh and X infinity for Lara totally sucking. That is one of the most annoying things i have every had to deal with. If i ever meet the person who programmed Lara im going to punch them in the face!

i'd rather have more money in my pocket than being with telstra's 'superior' reception. telstra is a theif company.
