Has anyone else noted that the technical sections are seeing a wider spread of models and engines in questions being asked? This seems to be an increasing trend over the last 18 moths. Good to see, we are alive and well.
I regularly get messages from new members responding to the welcome and overview message each new member recieves upon signing up.
I think we have a few years left in us yet.
One of the best things about this forum is that people will go out of their way to help others, which is far from the experience I've had on other car forums.
The forum is looking better than ever, and theres very useful info and discussions. People feel welcome and theres always new members popping up and old ones returning, and tons and tons of sand baggers making use of the info we will probably never hear from but benefit none the less.

I was very disappointed recently, and realised just how good the layout and discussion is here, when I joined a Pajero Forum which I won't single out, it took 5 days to be approved by admin to post by which time I had almost lost interest, my intro post very polite but I got a 3 word reply to something I said about concerns about electronic 4x4 selection.

That doesn't happen here, the atmosphere is more friendly, and theres some very experienced folks that contribute.

I'd like to see more forums added if it's feasable, this thread suggest it is.

I truly apreciate the help I've found here, it's a good outlet for fellas and ladies alike who love their Patrols to share experience.

Well done to all :)

When you say 'more forums added' do you have suggestions? We have added forums (sections) in recent years in an effort to enhance our appeal.
Nothing in particular except maybe specific forum on other vehicles if there was enough interest might be worth considering, how would you gauge if there was enough interest though. Survey? Obviously we have this already but not as specific?

TBH it's pretty good enough as it is

That's exactly how a forum should work. No point asking a question that has already been answered dozens of times before when a simple search will provide an abundance of information without waiting for someone to answer. That's exactly what Facebook is no good at, finding old information. Even finding something you read yesterday can at times be impossible.
I guess the biggest problem with that is the search engine functionality, and peoples ability or inability to search.

@geeyoutoo The functionality of the search has come into question since the migration, has anything changed since then or can it be improved ? I note unrelated results at times, and then things like duplicate threads which I know you are aware and sorting these things from time to time.

(next they can argue about how good Internal Combustion is when the rest of the world is switching to Electric , lol).
Sorry I should probably leave this alone, needs a whole thread. Yeah I just bought firtst petrol Independant suspension vehicle so I'm open minded, not selling my diesel work ute though

It's your argument "The rest of the world will switch to electric" But are they ? NO, the world is not switching to electric, it's just hype but an agenda none the less, a very questionable one.

They have really got a lot of people believing this is the future, well your comments suggest you buy the hype. I don't.

Aside from EV cars which have failed to prove themselves viable as a competitive, affordable, and importantly safe replacement, for petrol/diesel vehicles, you have to explain HOW-

Shipping, Railway, Military, Trucking, Aviation and Mining will switch over too ? That's what makes "the world" go around. Try and fathom economically a switch over. Not possible, and where is the tech to replace with the required redundancy and reliability. No argument when you think logically ?

Electric vehicles except for city is a complete ruse, dangerous too (how many teslas catch fire), the electric grid can't handle any switch over andf the tech is not there with the same reliability. Where does the electric grid power come from, oh yeah fossil fuels.

Theres a whole field of electric ex gov cars in italy laid up because the batteries are too expensive to replace. A lot of electric car waste.

Electric cars and scooters which catch fire while parked at home in the garrage, causing house fires.

Hydrogen power ICE's maybe, but expect Diesel to be the beckbone for decades to come if not till the end of the world, if we're not close enough ! LOL

We did touch on this subject in a previous thread (ill try find a link later if i can) but it is interesting the amount of misinformation going around about EVs, the level of hatred amazes me to be honest , but as much as i may have to say on the subject, we should leave this out of here, this is not the thread, so i shall politely walk away from this particular conversation subject if that's cool ;-)
Yeah all good. My point is in todays world all the thinking has supposedly been done for people to go along to get along and not question it, and virtue signal the status quo to others, for acceptance. It get's nausiating especially when the status quo is full of holes and hype. I take issue with people trying to feed me the mantras of this debased world as some virtue !!

If the world ends it wont because of "climate change" it will be because of corruption, evil and downright stupidity, theres no shortage of these things in this world. But hey I know I'm unique in my views as far as it goes.

Let me know when you get your EV :p

This is a great forum with or without Y62 followers but they are certainly welcomed and acommidated for. Perhaps as the 62 gets older more followers will come with the latter owners as they mod them, many 62's are still in the original owners hands. The latecommers might be more the demographic to use this site over FB, then the knowledge base will grow?

I'd be very happy if Iowned one with this site, because I don't believe what FB stands for and has over the years. I love YT though you can find so much there. I guess marketplace saved FB.
