hi guys,

Why is it that when going uphill even when it not that hot outside, with AC on, the troll starts overheating?
Radiator was replaced a year ago (new engine since 2,000KM ago).
When shutting the AC, all is back to normal.

Happend to me this week, had radiator out and rodded in feb, then saturday started to get hot again. took it to shop, they said impossible, i said nay it's blocked (topped up with wrong collant), they still said no way.

picked up the truck on mon arvo after leaving there in the morning, and they said it was blocked 50% and it was fresh blockage, and that they had learnt something new .

and it's back to running like clock work :driving:

Try and see what happens when you turn OFF the air con and open the heater full with full fan. This what we use to do in the empty quarter and is well known cooling trick in the desert. We also removed the thermostat.

Under the cross member behind the grill there is second plug to run dual electric fans as like the super safari Y61 or Y62. You could consider this as well. If your is auto all you need to do is re route the oil cooler just slightly and fix in the second fan. No extra parts are needed only the additional fan and if I recall a few washers to act as spacers.

overheating

Hi Guys,

Thanks.

The radiator is a new one (not cleaned) since a year ago.
It is a new engine - since mine blow up a month ago.
thermostat was replaced with the engine.
the troll does not over heat without the AC working, even if i drive in the desert in a hot day...
only with the AC on - so i don't think the heating trick is necessary, i use it on my clients when their engines heat...

any more ideas?
Thanks.

Yeah Bruce good point on a/c thing I forgot all about that. I also say x3 viscous fan hub.
Water pump vains are worn and not handle the extra strain of the a/c when extra load is put on the engine. Is a new engine or recon block.
