We use Shannons prices seem compatible and my ute has peculiar needs and them and nrma were the only ones that would insure it Shannons were half $$$$ and better options so have 3 cars insured with them which is also discounted
I am happy with Shannons.

Funny that as when I enquired with RAC over here in WA, they said they wouldn't insure the Patrol due to it only having a 3 star ANCAP rating.

I ended up going for a cheapy online company called Bingle. No frills policy with a higher excess for now but will switch to a more comprehensive policy for longer trips in the coming years....

I'm with dga insurance brokers. Have been for over 10yrs with 2 different cars. Currently paying just over $120 a month for 06 patrol in melbourne with all my mods covered. They cover anywhere in aus except comp use.

Only ever had one claim on my last 4by (not at fault) and that was during the cover note period and they were no hassles. Paid my first premuim and vehicle was fixed no problems.

Another one for Shannon’s here with two cars insured with them.

Only thing I didn’t like was both cars are under the same policy but insured accordingly. Which in turn means everything bundled into one figure and is due at once. Therefore can’t be spread according to date insured with them like other insurance companies.

i used to be with RAC but it they wouldn’t insure for full value after the conversion so now with Shannons at agreed value and good price too, so very happy.

Shannons!
Rolled my GU last year (
). Complete write off.
Shannons were more than helpful, full payout within 10 days.
Was happy to pay increased premium for next year, but they automatically reduced it after a year.
Cant fault them!

When I first bought the 'Troll I went straight to Shannons as my past experience with them with the previous vehicle (S/C VY Calais on LPG - modified) was great. I used to be with RAC like Mainey88 and did have an 'Agreed Value' policy, but they decided to start increasing their Premiums each year and wouldn't agree to the value, so I switched to Shannons over 12 years ago.

They understood that it wasn't just pieces of metal, but something I had spent a LOT of money on making it better.

Shannons took into account what I wanted to do with the 'Troll and provided an 'Agreed Value' policy to suit.

Most companies only work to a 'Red Book' value (and the Nissan Patrol has taken a few hits of it's value from that book over the last few years) - currently around $5K for a 2003 ZD30Dti irrespective of whatever 'fruit' you have added..This is BS. Insurance is not JUST about the PREMIUMS, but VALUE, despite the insurance ads we are bombarded with on the TV..

Mine's still 'Agreed' valued at $19K, and Premiums are under $50/month, so I'm really pleased with that, plus the Premiums haven't gone up yet over the 3 years I'v had it insured👍.
Only made 1 claim for windscreen over that time, no change to Premiums.

I am with Shannons, I'm under 25, have 2 atfault crashes and I am covered for agreed value of 10.5k, still cheaper than anywhere else (and that was for market value).
With Shannon’s also.

If you want specialist 4x4 insurance that covers you wherever you go, and covers all your mods and accessories for an agreed value you can't go past Club4x4. Cover includes an allowance for recovery, which you can increase if planning any really remote trips. Service is good, and they are genuine 4x4 enthusiasts.

Hi Daves GQ. I'm with them too and just renewed a few months back but not getting PC's 4x4 mag any more. I should ring them but do you have any idea how much extra for remote recovery extra ($15,000)? I understand $1500 is already in the policy.

Was with Wollies but moved to Club 4x4. They provide discount if you have completed an accredited 4x4 driver training course and also suspended the remote recovery option I have with them valued at $15k during COVID-19. Off-road recovery costs can write off a vehicle in itself. They are more expensive but I feel they cover a lot more than other insurers that don't take off road issues specifically into account.

I'm with Elders insurance. Costs around 750/yr. I have my 2016 patrol insured for replacement and have every modification listed. My understanding is they must replace with exactly what I have and if not, they have to pay for it.
I am covered anywhere in Australia. I checked because I drive on private property and through the Bush a lot.
Only thing I dont like about them is filling out a claim form. It's a bit long and painful but no problems getting them to pay up.
I think I'll check out Shannon's and club 4x4 though as a comparison after reading here
