Gday all,

Cracked the rear suspension tower mount on the gu wagon. Does anyone know of a repairer in the Perth area that specialises in these repairs for Patrols? Any assistance appreciated.

Best bet would be to talk to a good smash repairer. Preferably one that does 4wd repairs.
They have the tools to pull it back into position and weld in laminate and gussets.

Ask Robsons brothers 4x4.
I seem to remember that they told me about a guy who specialises in this sort of work and engineering.

Don't forget that one of our forum vendors, Superior Engineering, do a kit for bracing after repairs have been done as well. I'm sure they have someone over there that carries their gear.

I have the bolt-in Superior coil tower brace kit. It is a solid bit of gear but a little fiddly to install.
Yes once it is repaired then I recommend the brace kit to make sure it does not happen again.

I recommend getting it fixed properly by laminating and gusseting rather than bolting on a brace.

The bloke who House suggested sounds alright.

My towers were starting to bend, we tried the superior bolt in kit but could only get one side in, the other side wouldn't fit (due to bend, fuel lines etc).

I ended up going to Robson Bros, they welded in the other superor kit to brace the towers all back up, I also had plates welded onto the sides of rails to strenghen them. I havnt got any complaints about the workmanship.

Yeah that's the way to do it.
I didn't know that Superior do a weld in fix, I've only seen 2 different bolt in kits from them.
