I just saw that on the news, very sad. He was an awesome actor! I loved him in The Usual Suspects, my all time favourite movie.

yeah i cant believe it either, i rated him very highly. I only watched "the town" last week and was delighted to see him in that, now i read he died.

Liyarn Ngarn

A new privately funded documentary has brought together the British actor, Pete Postlethwaite, with the indigenous songwriter Archie Roach and Aboriginal leader Pat Dodson. They journey through Australia's outback and historical past in an effort to change people's perceptions and attitudes towards indigenous people.

The impetus for the film was the death of Bill Johnson's adopted Aboriginal son, Louis St John, who was murdered on his 19th birthday, allegedly "because he was black."

They tried for years to have it shown on free to air TV but because of it's controversial nature it has been knocked back.

So many great roles, performed perfectly. The band master in "Brassed Off" was one of my favorites. Having grown up in the coal fields in the UK it really hit home.
