i split my power steering high pressure hose on the weekend, got it fixed and put it back on. however the bottom where the steel hose is bolted in (with the bolt that has a hole in the middle of it) i think i turned that too much and it has caused a crack in the steel hose part.....

how hard is it to fix?

New end required if it's where I'm thinking of. The part thy has the banjo bolt that goes onto the power steering box. Is it the hose end that is gone or the steering box thread has cracked

I had mine split a few weeks back, luckily i was able to limp home the few k's. I had all the parts to change it to proper hydraulic line, so it cost me stuff all. You can get the bits from -
Hydraulics Direct Pty Ltd - Products: Hydraulic Hose - Medium Pressure - Two Wire Braid

I used 1/2" 2 wire hose with 3/4"jic feild attachables, then you need M18-3/4"jic adapters for the pump and the box. Total cost under $80, massive overkill but should last for another 20years!!!
