Hi Guys, I am installing a VDO Pyro gauge into GQ patrol and loooking for some advice. The kit comes with 5 metres "special compression loom" to connect thermocouple to gauage. The 5 metres is way too long for what I need, can this be shortened to what ever length or does it have to stay at 5 metres for guage to read accurately. Cheers

DO NOT CUT THE CABLE
They are usually attached to the probe, other end to connect to the gauge & yes they are made to length to read accurately. Coil up the excess behind the dash or behind the lighter sockets area in front of the centre console.
