Hi...am fitting pyro tc soon...it has 1/4 bsp collet...can i tap ex manifold to take it, nearer the end, thought that closer to engine, more accurate temp? Thanks

I have mine 50-60 mm after the turbo flange, before the bend.

The average fitment area is 50-60mm from the turbo flange, now if you read this one http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/zd30-di-engine-3-litre-71/egt-survey-zd30di-part-2-a-88453/ which is the second survey with a summary of the original in the first few posts you will get an idea of what goes on, the reason I did this survey was to give people fitting an EGT gauge something to work with.

Fitting it into the manifold may give you a more exact temp, but from which cylinder? is it being influenced? and it is lot of trouble to go to to remove the manifold to do it, this is much simpler and we have so much data to work with from the survey.

Thanks guys, will mount early in the turbo flange.
