I have just replaced my radiator cap with a genuine Nissan one, the old one was from supercheap and I wasn't sure if it was working properly. Took the patrol for a quick run and now the top hose seems a bit harder to squeeze than before. The thermostat was replaced about a month ago. So my question is it normal for it to be quite hard when hot? Oh and it's a 2004 zd30

Hi,

I replaced my radiator cap 2 months ago. I could hear the pressure noise near the old cap and saw some coolant stains in the plastic. After buying a new one I was sure the old was dead, because the rubber disc had the mark of the radiator neck. Just for peace of mind I replaced the pressure tank cap, altough the old was still usable.
See the photos of mine:

Oh, and after I notice the radiator top hose was harder when hot, but I was expecting that!
