Hi there, I am relatively new to the forum having owned my GQ RB30 patrol for a few months now. Since owning it I have had many problems with the GAS system and now the fuel system, I have replaced intank pump and was getting great float level (which it never had) and ran awesome on a few trips for about 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden it refused to idle and after checking everything we put it down to the carby needed a re-kit.

SO the bad news. I got a carby kit through work form repco. No diagrams inside at all so had a mate of a mate at work who said All good he's done a few of these before. so proceeds to pull it apart in front of me until his phone rings and he has to leave!!! I have since been unable to get in contact with him or seem to find anything relating to how it all goes back together! I did out it back together wher ei thought everything go's and it started first go but There was 2 jet loking things one longer one shorter which i had no idea which way around they went. So i had a guess. must have been wrong as it runs now but the rev's get stuck up high every now and then and it seem's to be running insanely rich at idle now and the mixture screw is only 2 turn's out from all the way in. Stumped what I really need is either a good second hand working carby to get me out of trouble or a exploded diagram of the RB30S carby so I can attempt to rebiuld it again!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again.

wind in the idle mixture screw till it isnt too rich , normally around 1 to 1 1/2 turns out, and check for any linkages that might be rubbing or catching ,all return springs hooked up ??

Yeah the outside linkages are all hooked up with the return sprinhs as I have stuffed round with them before myself.... the only thing I am worried abotu is that I have put the two jets maybe the slow and cruising jets back to front maybe as with the exact same mixture as it had before (which i had set at 2.5turns out) is blowing smoke (unburnt fuel smoke) out the xhuast on idle now?
???? anyway thanke mate was going to pull it apart again now but don't see the point unless I can find a diagram of how it is supposed to go together.

if it is a dual throat carby normally the jet with the larger hole will go to the secondrys , thats if we are talking about the same jets

YEah i probably should have just converted it to injection when the drama's first began.... but ya get that.

Hi everyone just bumping it up to see if anyone else might have a diagram/exploded view of a RB30 carby for me to be able to work out why mine is having drama's since i re-kitted it. thanks
