gday guys and gals, went out for a day trip a few weeks ago and got stuck, my winch bitch noticed that the rear diff wasnt spinnig both as it normally does. but when i was mucking around on a gravel area later on it did. would this be a need for re shimming? or diff shagged?

It can depend on how much pressure is on the wheels. The LSD will only work when there is enough pressure on both wheels for the LSD to work. Maybe it is worn after this many years as well though, so won't operate with less pressure. Pull it out and get it shimmed.

Add a bottle of engine oil flush to your diff oil and run for a few hundred ks, then drop and replace with new LSD oil. It got my LSD working better.

Some people recommend running it for 5000kms but I would be a bit more conservative to start with. You can always do it again if it doesn't work well the first time.

dont want to add friction modifiers cuz they are actually made to help your lsd slip when new lsd have bad chatter car places put friction modifiers in to help the plates slip and stop the chatter all lsd oils are designed to help the plates slip which means one wheel spins id say try normal diff oil and see how that goes? anyone disagree with me??
