hi all,

the rear stabilizor links,is it true that the one on the left hand side (elec one) that the bottom can be replaced on it?

i am just finishing the patrol for it's LGV test so i need to figure out what i can do with this,it failed on both links on this paticular unit,i know and have read that the bottom of the electric link with the booth on it can be replaced,if so what do i need for it?

is it just a myth or can it really be replaced? here from the main dealers the price is crazy something like 2500euros ....
i know i can source a good second hand one like new for 250euros,but if i can do it for free even better eh? :D

thanks in advance

Think about how often you actually use the electrical disconnect and decide if you need it.
If you don't need it then replace it with standard stabiliser links

Not sure what your getting at. But Sudso a vendor on here makes new longer pins for your sway bar disconnect for your patrol if you have lifted it and want to retain the sway bar disconnect.

It can be replaced but once you ask Nissan for quote you need to sit down and catch your breath at 500 UK pounds +/-

Its nice item to have as a flick of switch and you can go across a slope side ways and the patrol levels out.

You can build your own if you have a difflock OEM or on board air compressor. Its simple and very cheap to do using the following parts.

You can fit Parker round body pneumatic cylinder. You just do the travel length longer then the total flex so it doesn't damage the cylinder. Fix the cylinder the with open hole tie rods so it can move around and not get damaged.
Small 3 way valve in Patrol to direct the air to diff lock or pneumatic cylinder or both.
I used all parker parts, plastic black air hose and inline air fittings that just push lock on.

The bleed off air from the cylinder can be returned to the air tank to be reused or dumped. I returned mine so it was a air tight circuit and waterproof. every oil change you just open the hose and sprayed a little WD40 in line to cylinder to keep it lubed.

All can be purchased in Parker Hydraulics store.

They make every size possible in length and bore so if your oem coils or have a lift kit you just work out your stroke length. You can do the front but I found you need a 5" lift and above due cylinder issues in size and strength.

I m doing my 4.8 when I'm home this Dec as I don't like to stop to much once rolling. But this time I plan to use 1 electric 12v actuated valve with stack valve fitted. This save having to turn the air flow by hand.

hi all,

thanks heaps for the responces so far,the part that has failed is the little ballsocket or rod end at the bottom which mounts on to the bar itself,i hear these can be replaced with something else, the same socket can't be got apparently.

Hi,

To pass LGV replace electric stabilisor with a fixed version like this (this is for patrol without electric stabiliser and should be direct bolt):

STABILISER LINK FIT FOR NISSAN PATROL 2.8 1998-2000 ADL6910 | eBay

After LGV you'll have to cut and weld the balljoint to the old rod or if diameter of new link and the one in electric stabiliser is the same then disassemble electric stabiliser, measure length, cut, make new thread and reassemble.

Check this from french patrol forum:

its great site patrol-gr. very interesting topics.

I'm still reading about that lift kit. Who builds left hand drive adjustable front and rear panhard rods in Europe?

And the front and rear bumper on that patrol is work of art (black patrol). never seen anything look that nice in years.

no problem,

thnks edu my friend for the help, and GREAT help at that, listen me and my brother are going to go at it next monday,we have a good list of things to do,my patrol has seen a tough year so in reality the list is small for the amount of work it has done, mostly towing.

anyway,to cut straight to the point, can anything be done with the system that is on it?? or does it need to be replaced with the standard stuff???

thanks

Yes as mentioned above hit up Sudso on this forum as he has made a factory release extension setup which I'm pretty sure is bolt on.
And I'm pretty sure he sells the fixed links to.

Go to bearing shop they cost $15 to replace, if they don't have the same part a heim joint will do the same thing and cost the same. This part just un-screws of the rod.
