After just reading about a crd having some electrical gremlins i thought I'd start a thread on how reliable our gu's have been.

Just how many kilometres, which model and when the problem/s started and what they were.

Mine is an 03 3.0l auto that has just started leaking out the exhaust manifold at 145000k, its now at 148 k, other than that and servicing its never missed a beat and never put a spanner to it!

i feel for some owners here having plenty of problems well under a 100 k, let us know.

Cheers.

2.8gu so far so good after 1 year owning 4b to the date 240,000 at moment apart something minor yesterday i think??? blew the cap of clutch master cylinder its making squishing noise (sound of brake fluid) as i press clutch, if i depress clutch too much pedal gets hard as it feels like im bleeding the brakes thats how firm it gets as persay, all ive done so far is tape the resevoir so no brake fluid gets out...

Im thinking of doin is drain out clutch fluid replace with new and bleed the clutch master cylinder system... abrakadabra its fix'd fingers crossed..

any opinons on this matter would be greatly appreciated...

I check the clutch booster too, if youve blown the back seal on the master cyl then it could fill the clutch booster with fluid(maybe your squishing sound and hard pedal)

EDIT- mines nothing to judge buy but for the thread. 46k on the clock. No hassels 2x nissan recalls (both in my opion unecessary):)

98 GU 2.8, only thing I've had to do in the 8-9 months i've owned it is clean the MAF and re-solder the plug at the back, and injectors. Somethign is still amiss, economy is horrid at the moment, but considering what ive put it through, its been great.

2002 4.8 auto, 130,000km only problem I have had in the 6 years of owning it was on xmas day when a new but aftermarket O2 sensor shat itself, since replaced with a genuine, serviced by me every 5000km, has never been to Nissan since if left their car lot in 2002, It`s is still in A1 condition, has towed a 2 tonne caravan, up and down the east coast, If my plans go ahead I will be keeping it to tow a 26-28 foot boat, has to be the best buy I have ever made

i have a 1999 2.8 GU Patrol which i have owned for the past 10 years. Apart from a new hew head last year (due to a blocked radaitor) i have had no troubles from my vehicle. I am up to 295.000km
This thread was a great idea as the problem with forums is we all get on there and post all our problems but you dont often here the good stories from the happy owner.
