Hey guys.

I went off roading last weekend and ended up rolling my car onto the right hand side. Now as you can see from the photo's I have severely damaged the whole right hand side. FR 1/4 panel + BR 1/4 panel + both doors + windscreen + side mirror.

Because insurance companies and C***'s they won't cover me, so im down multi thousand dollars for the car.

I'm having troubles chasing down some replacement panels that aren't ridiculously over priced in the brisbane region.

The good news is the car is still driveable but my steering wheel sits on a 30 degree angle when driving straight. Pretty sure I bent the steering arm.

Please help!!

Cheers

Deccers

Had a passenger in the car who received neck injuries so an ambulance was called (They walked out of hospital the next day) Pigs decided to sniff out the situation and breatholize me. Filed a report and Yeah insurance company won't pay out because I was "under the influence of alcohol" but on private property so I didn't get bent over for it.

You can't blame the insurance company for not paying for the repair especially since it appears you are on P's with a zero limit

Yeah I agree with you Don. Just frustrating that's all knowing I'm alone spending thousands getting it repaired. They always get you when your sober but it's still in your system :(

Looking at the side impact around the wind screen area, looks as though you have damaged your pillar .... if thats the case, you will need to search long and hard for a panel beater to even touch it. Normally when a pillar is bend and the force of impact reaches the roof its generally deemed a right off ......

Mate, as a friend of mine said to me when I stacked my (uninsured) motorbike a few years back, "don't worry about fixing it if it doesn't NEED to be fixed; you'll just wreck it again!". My advice, stick to the bare essentials and worry about the rest when you happen to be able to get your hands on some cheaper parts! Or roll it somewhere else....again....sober this time....

Mate my offroad set sit out 4 inches at least with no flares on, just put bigger flares on mate. Or risk it like jacket did but you will probably just get defected anyway. Keep it looking semi legal and you should be right.

What was the reading ?

Regards Don
The officer on duty could not state the exact amount. But she advise me that I was between 0.05 and 0.151 which is a pretty big difference. I had more than a few rums at lunch then went driving late afternoon.

Either way they didn't ask for my license or new I was a P Plater so I don't think it really made a difference really . . .

by the looks of that fella, a windscreen wont fit back in there until the 'A' pillar has been repaired. a couple of other things you have to think about before you bolt on new panels is water leaks. it may not look like it (and it might not even be) but even the 'B' pillar could be twisted. doesn't take much to push a roof accross from a high up side impact. all the strenght in the side of a car is in the lower section of the 'A' and 'B' pillars to protect the driver, if you have rolled onto the side and the roof was touching or almost touching the ground, chances are the roof has been pushed across.
i have seen some very nice cars wasting away because of DUI. i'd buy a cheap run about and fix your troll properly,
remember the structure saved you this time, do dodgey repairs and you may not be so lucky next time as all the strenght has already been comprimised.

P plater, under the influence of alcohol, hurt your passenger, whinging about the insurance company not paying out then taking a sickie, sounds like you got off lightly. Take it on the chin, grow a pair, work your ass off to pay for the damage and learn from the experience.
