Hi All,
Hope you’ve all had a good Christmas! 🙌🏾🥳

So I am looking in to running 35” muddies on my Zd30. I know I will have to change my diffs to the correct gearing but I wanted to know if anyone had any issues running 35” on a 3.0L??

I did read somewhere that it could lead to the engines popping (not on this site) and wanted to make sure this isn’t the case before I run 35s.

I would really appreciate any advice.

Thank you in advance 🤟🏾

Oli.

I have been running 35's for over 75k Kms and apart from the aftermarket upgrade suspension component bushes giving up quickly I have had no engine problems.

I initially went to 4.8 gearing from 4.3 as I was towing heaps and starting moving was a pain. After a few upgrades to the engine I went back to 4.3.

If you want to go back to standard gearing after fitting the tyres go to 4.6 if you have 4.3s. The 4.8s are a big jump. I'm not sure what revs a standard zd30 box will pull in 5th as mine has a TB45 box in it and 5th saw me at over 3k rpm at 110 when not towing.

Hope that helps, Andy.
