that is very rare must of been dunked in salt water. sills are not that hard to replace but what is the floor pan like?

 

Thats some serious rust!!

Thats way too far gone to add any kind of rust convertor.

Time to start investigating what's going on.

Best get that properly sorted out.

That's bad rust.
Cut and weld job. I'd be pulling the carpets, rust proofing floors, doors, any cavities you can find assuming they're not rusty.

 

might want to get on your back and have a poke with a screw driver in your chassis rails just rear of where your lower control arms mount to the chassis. Id be worried about the condition of the chassis if your sills are that far gone.

 

yeah that's some serious rust. keep probing till you find out where it ends, hopefully it hasn't made it into any major chassis structure.

The Plan? When its mine (It still belongs to my parents), I'll buy another GU Patrol for parts and cut off the sill and replace it. The Chassis has only surface rust but I will do some rustproofing when I get it. We actually haven't gone on the beach with it. It must have been used as a beach rental car! I missed that part because someone must have kicked in the sill only recently. Thanks guys!

 

Rest of the shell probably has some rust issues too, re-cab it, shell going for $700 on facebook at the moment.
