Gday trollers
I am fitting an SAAS brand turbo timer I’m my 2004 GU III and after some advice. Just wondering if the wiring coming from the ignition will match up with the colours of the turbo timer wires, and if not how can I determine which do what. Also any advice on the best method for connecting/joining the wires wood be appreciated. Electrical is not
My strong point so any help/advice would be awesome.

Don’t use scotch locks/blocks to join wires, there is differing opinions on crimps and soldering. Heat shrink is good insulation after you have joined the wires.

Your questions clearly indicate that you really should not be doing the job yourself.
If you have no idea how to determine which wire does what and if you also need advice on how to join wires then give it to an auto electrician.

If you have no idea how to determine which wire does what and if you also need advice on how to join wires then give it to an auto electrician.

The patrol has two ign circuits, when I installed mine I had to play with the sub tank computer to stop it thinking something was wrong and bringing up the sub light on dash.

Yeah I have read about people having that issue. Finding the ignition crank and battery shouldn’t be a problem, it is the acc and handbrake I am not so sure about finding

I'm using a Bogaard Turbo timer, cost about $200, and its plug and play. But I suspect it would be at least double the price of the SAAS timer.

Update: So I have fitted it and the car didn’t catch fire or explode which is good. Problem is when I set the timer it counts down while the car is running and when I turn off the ignition the motor cuts out and the timer will keep counting down. Releasing the handbrake stops the timer as it should, but the timer has no power while the car is on accessory. I am thinking possibly I have mixed up the crank wire and accessory wire. Any advice or ideas would be great thanks

Not letting the smoke out is always a good thing :)

The main ignition wire that runs the vehicle is a Blue wire coming from the back of the ignition switch. This should be connected to the yellow wire of your shut down timer.

The blue wire from your shut down timer should be connected to the Black wire with a Yellow trace to prevent problems with the sub tank system.

How did you have it wired?

The blue wire from your shut down timer should be connected to the Black wire with a Yellow trace to prevent problems with the sub tank system.

How did you have it wired?
I have the Yellow wire connected to the black with yellow trace and the blue wire connected to a black wire with white trace

The Black Wire with White trace is an accessory feed you don't need this one.

Connect as I have stated above.
Doing it now. There are two black wires with yellow trace though. One is thicker with two yellow stripes and the other is thinnner with single yellow stripe

The one you need will more than likely be the smaller one. You will need to check to confirm. It needs to have power when the ignition switch is on.

The second one I think will only have power when you turn the key to start.
