Hey guys. thought id tell ya im having problems with samsungs latest LCD, the model is LA55c750 and its a 55inch but there are smaller ones.

i would not recommend anyone to get one of these sets, i just replaced mine today for the exact same model and the problem is still there. it has really bad color banding and the black areas in movies are really bad.

here is a pic of the problem,i had a old LCD that didnt do this so i know it isnt my other equipment, tryed different hdmi cables with no success. does it with the PC, PS3 and XBOX360

i will be returning this one tomorrow to go to either a Samsung plasma or a different brand all together.

from what i can gather from the net and my own personal knowledge, is the screen has low bits, eg. its a 8-bit screen using dithering to create all the colors instead of using say a 10 or 12-bit screen.

anyhow i thought i would share my experience with you guys just in case one of you were looking at this tv

i should add that the tv is still a good unit and someone who isnt as picky as me would still love it. watching avatar on blu ray is awesome, its just once i noticed this problem its just gotten more annoying as time goes on

Might be a 3D model and not work on Xbox/computer.

Google says its 3D, so maybe go a straight LED or LCD for gaming.

yeah it playes 3d content, but you need to turn 3d on to make it work. my mate has a 58 inch samsung plasma thats 3d and its all good. it plays 2d + 3d

I just went and got some 3D glasses that I got from the movies once. It makes the picture you posted like real life and it came out of my screen.

i didnt buy the tv for 3d, just happens the one i wanted was 3d. they will all be able to play 3d soon.... your choice to watch 3d or not

its actually pretty good, as you say truckster there isnt much around in 3d right now but it will be good to have when avatar comes out in 3d format. i think panasonic tvs come with 3d avatar

hahhahahah im actually looking at getting a 3d digital camera, fujifilm make 1 and from what iv heard you can get pretty good results from it.

Mate be carefull with Samsung if they play up under warranty they dont help you out much, i have a 42" Samsung Plasma, took them 3months to replace it after me ringing every day and going to Office of fair trading, I am still arguing with them as they sent me out a new plasma but it doesn't have the same or better specs then my old one. They Won't let you talk to a manager and even the Complaints Department dont want to talk to you about issues.
Mate if i was you i would be either heading to Hisense as they have a 3yr in home Replacement warranty (took our new Hisense LCD 5 days to be replaced no questions asked) Or go with LG, or TCL.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm,well now its night time iv noticed now on this new tv it also has clouding/torching in the bottom left corner! the one i returned today didnt have a clouding problem! im thinking of swapping to a plasma, iv always liked and had lcd but am not happy at all and would prefer to have my 42 inch LG back!! oh well, maybe i should just be happy with what i got and focus more on thrashing through some bush
