Hi,

Until yesterday my GU wagon had 17" factory alloys with 265/70 R17 tyres (Federal Couragia A/Ts).

I just had 16" x 8" steel wheels put on with 265/75 R16 tyres (MT ATZ 4rib) and they are scrubbing very slightly on the front mud guard at full lock. This doesn't seem right as in theory the new 16" tyres are only 1.1mm larger in overall diameter than the stock tyres.

Any ideas what might be causing the problem?

I thought maybe the offset of the new wheels is different or the new tyres have much deeper tread which isn't counted in the tyre size measurements?

I haven't visually compared the new and old tyres side be side for size differences.

The new rims offset might be different, I think they need to +10, most 16s are 0 or - , I have't seen any 16s with + offsets.
