man ya ears would have been ringing at the end. 😱 This was a 100klm race and was run at an average speed of 83kmh in 1960, now that's cranking along for back in that year. ;)

Back in my younger days used to do fown hill skate boarding.
We set up a bike as a down hill.bike
Bmx frame upside down, forks where handle bars normally are.
Then a long seat welded in.
You pretty much lay down on it, with feet on pegs on back wheel, only rear brakes, no pedals.
Chucked a speedo on it to clock our speeds on the boards.
We easily clocked 70 odd kmph and upwards few times.

Bloody hell and I thought that I was adventurist with a motor bike without the motor n brakes, pushing it up to the top of a hill and then running alongside of it and jumping on. 2klms later it would be slow enough to get off! 🤣🤣

Back on the treadly from 25th Feb after my off.
I'm trying to get 10k for the year.
1150 in the bank now but bunch rides are done with covid 19.
Could be a struggle with winter coming.
Fk it. Gives me a target though

Yes interesting indeed but if your weight is within the bounds of a pro rider, I can see how his analogies work but for the normal pleb, it's a lot of work to try n track everything. I have never subscribed to the lower is better nor higher is better on the road but it's still interesting. Multiple surfaces are always going to be a headache to sort out. Interesting that frame geometry wasn't mentioned in it and how that can affect ride quality.

The most interesting point through out it was at about the 23min mark, where he spoke about the hour record on the Track and the tyres made by Conti being only a 2ply silk wall. Typical thinking amongst a Track riders is..........Cotton walls for boards n Silk walls for concrete n asphalt surfaces  but as per usual, I'm not convinced of that thinking either. ;)

I think it started before all the crap hit the fan.

Yeah it did. Not by much. The Indian Pacific Wheel Ride that I went to the start of again was cancelled just before they got to the border
