hi guys
we did a road trip this weekend. on the way back every now and than a "hollow sound" cam from the back when I drove over a bump. it sounded as though someone hit the tank with a timber bat.it only happend at a reasonable speed (80-100km/h) tank was full.
any ideas or experiences with that?

Wheel bearing?

I got no idea, could you figure out what side it was on? Did you go over bumps on different sides to try and see what side?

it appears when both wheels hitting the bumps at the same time ( sometimes the roads are patched up across the street or sometimes before you enter a bridge where the different seals join and it is not very even and smooth ) you know what I mean ?

Have you checked muffler/tailpipe and brackets? I reversed in to stump years ago, bent the tailpipe up a bit, and that used to make a fairly solid thump when it hit the floorpan above the rear diff/axle.
